Donations
The Chugiak Senior Center exists to provide quality services and facilities to meet the needs of seniors in our community. Donations from individuals and foundations help us to continue to provide care for adult seniors, Meals on Wheels for our homebound recipients, a preventative licensed health nurse for patient care assessment, and personal care attendants in addressing ongoing needs of seniors. Other donations have helped us develop grant funding that build the new HUD affordable senior apartments, which opened this year and have played an important part in the growth of the Chugiak Senior Center.
In the past, your gifts made it possible to purchase our new Meals on Wheels van helped us begin the process of refurbishing our older apartments, and provided needed services to the Center. These are just a few of the accomplishments that have been made possible as a result of your donations.
At the present, new furniture ihas been purchased for the main dining room, lounges and the dining rooms in Assisted Living and Adult Day Services. The 2005 Walk for Seniors raised needed funding for refurbishing our lounges, the computer lab, library and other area used by residents and clients. Additional funding is a current priority and will allow us to continue to expand senior services and much more. Most important, future donations will help us continue to provide high-quality living facilities, fund a new Alzheimer's unit, and expand the Good Care Fund which helps those unable to pay for needed services.
